Asterisk and Bitrix24 Integration: Specifics

How to install the app to the self-hosted Bitrix24

We're often asked if the installation process and the work of the Bitrix24 and Asterisk integration app differ depending on the version of Bitrix24: if it's cloud or self-hosted.

The answer is as follows: the integration of Bitrix24 and Asterisk is universally applicable. It's compatible with both cloud and self-hosted versions of Bitrix24. There is practically no difference in the installation process on cloud or self-hosted Bitrix24.

The only difference is that in case with the self-hosted Bitrix24 the administrator shall make a number of additional network settings: users of the cloud version do not need to give our licensed server access to their Bitrix24 portal, while it's a mandatory requirement for the self-hosted version owners. Also, FreePBX must have access to oauth.bitrix.info service, our licensed server (license.informunity.ru) and the server of the portal itself.

However, the work of the standard integration app paired with the self-hosted Bitrix24 has its own nuances.

1. It's important that the self-hosted license is active (you should make sure that the platform updates are available).

You can order the license renewal from us on beneficial terms. Text us to find out more.

2. It's also critically important to install the updates regularly. For instance, if your Bitrix24 has not been updated since November 2017, you will not be able to use the integration.

If you do not have the ability or desire to engage in regular system updates all by yourself, we will gladly do it for you. Order our support service and we will take care of everything.

3. For our solution to work correctly, the following modules must be installed on the user portal: REST API, IM, Push and Pull, Drive.

4. Often users choose the self-hosted version of Bitrix24 for security reasons, and they expect all actions to be executed within their network. However, it's important to take into account that with the integration such things as a call from the portal or a callback from the site widget work via Bitrix24 services. When you click "Call" a chain of external services is activated, which means that the signaling traffic goes outside the local network.

For those who place emphasis on the fact that the interaction remain within the local network, we have developed a special Enterprise version of our module that bypasses the Bitrix24 service and sends requests directly to FreePBX.

The Enterprise version is to be purchased once and does not require further monthly payments. The price includes installation and warranty support during the first year after the purchase. It does not receive any automatic updates, however, the user can request it on his own. The information on the price of the solution is available upon request. Text us in Chat to find out more.
